Project Proposal
1.) Use one sentence to describe your
"creative journey" (no more than 50 words).
A story that goes on and on and never ceases to end.
2.) When and how did the journey start?
I have loved to create since I realized how much I enjoyed drawing. So, the journey probably began for me when I was in kindergarten.
3.) What is the relationship between this "creative
journey" and your current studies?
I've been mainly doing film studies and film production classes, but I enjoy this more. So, honestly, there isn't that much of a connection, apart from the fact that a computer is involved.
4.) What is the relationship between this "creative
journey" and your future?
I would like to be able to incorporate my desire to create with my career.
5.) Which individuals, movements, events
have influenced this journey significantly?
Please list those influences with brief descriptions.
I've always been very influenced and inspired by comics and graphic novels. I will list my top three: Adam Warren, Jo Chen, and Wendy Pini. Each of these artists write and illustrate their own graphic novels. Jo Chen and Adam Warren, in particular, utilize computer programs to enhance their works or create completely digital pieces.
6.)
What types of work are you presenting on your website?
I would like to present my own personal artworks, animations, and maybe even my short film projects.
7.)
Please briefly describe your experience in digital media production
such as 2D imaging, interaction design, etc. as well as your proficiency in software. Specify your
technical strengths and challenges.
I took two digital media classes as an undergraduate at WSC: Introduction to
Digital Media Design and Interactive Design. The former specialized in the creation of websites and the basics of html, while the latter dealt primarily with using Flash. I had gone
into these classes with some knowledge of HTML and coding, because I've own and maintained my own domain since 2002 and had been creating simple websites since high school. Although I do find myself proficient in the art of webdesign, I would love to learn how to create more dynamic, interactive sites. My knowledge of FLASH remains a bit limited as well, so I could use a refresher in that program. I've also been using Adobe Photoshop to create and edit images for years, so my proficiency in that program is considerable.
8.)
Which areas in the Digital Media are you most interested in (2D/3D animation,
interaction design, game design, etc.)?
I'm interested in almost all areas of digital media design. I love making websites, I love creating art with programs, and I also love being able to create animations and motion graphics.
